BEIJING, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.27 percent to 3,355.83 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.39 percent higher at 10,791.06 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices was about 1.94 trillion yuan (270.56 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.72 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to education, humanoid robots and artificial intelligence led the gains, while those in precious metals, non-ferrous metals and coal industries suffered losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.51 percent to close at 2,226.62 points. ■
