SAN FRANCISCO, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Google-owned YouTube is adding a new picture-in-picture (PiP) feature to its Android users in the U.S. free of charge Wednesday.
The feature, which was tested by Google for free customers last month, is available to U.S. Android users when they watch videos by switching to the PiP mode.
"Picture-in-picture is currently only available in the U.S. on Android mobile devices running Android version 8.0 Oreo or above," Google says on its support web page.
PiP function will work for most YouTube videos, but video clips containing music content will not be available for PiP playback without a YouTube Premium membership, who pay for better services, Google says.
The PiP feature allows Android users to watch YouTbue videos while using other apps on their mobile devices.?
